1. Havana: A Journey Through Time
No trip to Cuba is complete without visiting its vibrant capital. Located about 2 hours from our villa, a day trip to Havana allows you to stroll the cobblestone streets of Habana Vieja (Old Havana), ride in a classic 1950s convertible along the Malecón, and sip a mojito at La Bodeguita del Medio.
Leave after breakfast, spend the entire day exploring the plazas and historical forts, and return to the quiet breeze of your oceanfront house by dinner.
2. Bay of Pigs (Bahía de Cochinos)
If you love snorkeling and diving, the Caribbean coast to the south is calling. The Bay of Pigs is famous for its dramatic history and its crystal-clear cenotes, like Cueva de los Peces, and stunning reefs right off the beach at Punta Perdiz.
This excursion takes you through the lush Zapata Peninsula (Cuba's largest wetlands, famous for crocodile spotting) and puts you in the water by mid-morning. It's an easy and spectacular day trip from the Varadero area.
3. Cienfuegos & Trinidad
Step into colonial history. Cienfuegos, the "Pearl of the South", offers stunning French-inspired architecture and the beautiful Palacio de Valle. Further down the coast lies Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage site that feels frozen in the 1800s.
